is part of the 501st Legion of Imperial Stormtroopers, a professional costuming group that takes great joy out of constructing movie accurate costumes from the Star Wars Universe. Our unit of the legion covers Upstate NY (the shaded area of the map below.)
Our purpose is to bring fun and joy to the multitudes of Star Wars fans throughout the world, while also introducing the world of Star Wars to a whole new generation, with the release of the new Star Wars movies.
For pictures and more information on our costumes, please go to the Gallery Page.
If you know of, or are part of a children's based charity, and would like us to attend, please contact us. We'd love to hear from you.
The members of Garrison Excelsior are the regional representatives of the global Star Wars costuming group known as the 501st Legion of Imperial Stormtroopers. Through group discussions and organized appearances, we strive to memorialize the Star Wars films and create an exciting atmosphere to fans and the general public. Members of the garrison promote unity, encourage the creativity of the art of costume making, assist charities by promoting and participating in their events, wear the detailed costumes at public appearances, and to strive EVER UPWARD

|Thanks everyone for another amazing event at Strong Museum!! |
Although we didn't break records this time, I think that actually helped this event be more fun for the museum patrons (and us - I actually found some time to costume!) as there were no super long lines. And, we still brought in more than double what would have been their normal weekend attendance by bringing in about 6,000 people over the two days. So the museum is super thrilled with that.
Huge thanks to the Canadian Garrison for pushing our event over the top. You doubled our numbers, brought amazing props and backdrops that made our presence so much more amazing than we could have ever done without you. I <3 all of you guys (and gals)!
And, of course, thanks to all the Excelsior members and guests (R2 Builders, NER, RL, Galactic Academy, etc) who trooped and squired. We definitely wouldn't have been able to grow this event without the core volunteers in Excelsiorland to help build the foundation, support it and make it possible to invite others to come play with us.
