The 501st Ohio Garrison, Rebel Legion Midwest Base and the Ohio Star Wars Collectors Club have teamed up to host a charity auction for a rare Clone Wars movie poster autographed by director Dave Filoni. All proceeds from this raffle-style fundraiser will be donated to Autism Speaks and there is no limit to how many entries you can purchase---more entries means a greater chance to win! The auction for Terri Hodges' unique quilt comprised of 91 Legion-related patches ended with $685.00 US raised for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The embroidered patches were donated by 501st members and the quilt was on display at San Diego Comic-Con, where Terri was welcomed with an honorary membership in the Legion. Congratulations to Terri and a huge thank you to the winning bidder---we know who you are!

Spike TV has launched a series of viral videos promoting their ongoing showings of all six Star Wars films and members from the 501st Southern California Garrison had the opportunity to portray characters including Boba Fett and Tusken Raiders. One spot was even featured in the July 21st "Creativity's Top 5" from AdvertisingAge magazine. Star Wars fans have a lot to look forward to from July 24-27 at the San Diego Convention Center, as San Diego Comic-Con 2008 hits the Golden State. The 501st will be out in force promoting Star Wars for Lucasfilm and its licensees, but be sure to stop by the 501st booth on Friday, July 25th, if you want to play the 501st Droid Hunt game sponsored by Del Rey Books and featuring a collectible badge by guest artist Kevin Graham. We're giving away a plethora of prizes including a brand new eFX 1:1 scale Stormtrooper helmet! The Legion will also partake in the Mission Bay Toys R Us midnight madness toy release, a children's hospital visit, a large-scale group photo, and a costuming panel. Be sure to visit the 501st booth for details on any of these events and keep an eye out for Terri Hodges' 501st Charity Quilt project!
