Today the Legion mourns the loss of one of our children.
Many of you know of "Princess Leah," the baby daughter of two of our Southern California Garrison members. She has been fighting against a mysterious illness all of her life, and hundreds of Legion members, friends, and strangers alike have lent their strength and love to helping her and her family.
Last night, this little angel grew her wings. Leah passed away in her parent's arms, peacefully and in no pain, and surrounded by family.
Please remember our little Princess and the light and love that she brought into the many lives that she touched.

The Empire City Garrison has a new unit within its territory! Squad Leader Bob Olszewski (CC-1299) and thirteen other intrepid troopers of the ECG have occupied the lower- and mid-regions of New York State's Hudson River Valley and formed the aptly-named Hudson Valley Squad. They were officially recognized by the Legion on May 26th, 2013. Be sure to Like their new page on Facebook and watch for updates from the blossoming HVS! Good luck on your mission, troopers!

We are saddened to announce the passing of Eileen Shige Doyle, wife of Central Garrison member Kevin Doyle, TK-172.
Eileen could light up a darkened room with her personality, and if you met her, you would speak of her with a warm heart and a smile on your face. Eileen was a beautiful soul, and she embraced life with a love and passion that would humble us all. She fought cancer for thirteen months before it took her from us, but during her battle, her passion for the 501st Legion was such that she still worked diligently to complete a costume to join the club.
In honor of her spirit and of her struggle, we are proud to induct her now as a full member of the Legion as TK-14172. Rest in peace, Eileen, as one of our Eternal Legionnaires.

Ville Ahtonen, BH-11380 of Nordic Garrison! Ville was the principal builder of a full-scale AT-ST in Finland. He spent more than 500 hours to complete the 6.3-meter-tall "Battle Chicken" in time for the Model Expo on the weekend of April 27th. See photos of the completed project on the Nordic Garrison Facebook Page!
Our other April nominees were Jorge Casas, DZ 7894 of Skull Garrison, who provided great support for a Make-A-Wish Foundation hospital visit, and Gabriel Alejandro Gonzalez Bustos, TK-2444 of Chilean Outpost, who displayed enormous fortitude and a cheerful spirit while wearing his Gamorrean Guard costume during the heat of the Lion City Parade.
Congratulations to all our Legion Trooper of the Month nominees! Keep up the great work in the name of the Empire!
